About Oak & Anvil
BUILT FROM EXPERIENCE.
BUILT WITH PURPOSE.
Oak & Anvil was built from a simple belief: recovery shouldn’t end when the pain is gone.
My own journey from collegiate athlete, through injury and surgery, and eventually into physical therapy showed me the gap that often exists between rehabilitation and returning to the activities that make life meaningful. Oak & Anvil exists to bridge that gap-combining individualized physical therapy, strength, and performance to help people move confidently and become more resilient.
Why Oak & Anvil
MY EXPERIENCE CHANGED THE WAY I SEE RECOVERY.
At 19 years old, while playing collegiate basketball, I suffered 2 severe lumbar disc herniations that eventually required surgery. There was no mention or attempt to pursue conservative management. The surgery relieved my pain and addressed the injury-but afterward, I was left wondering what came next.
I had been treated, but I didn’t have a clear path for rebuilding my strength, restoring confidence in my body, or returning to the level of activity that mattered to me.
That experience stayed with me.
Years later, as a physical therapist and strength and conditioning coach, I began seeing the same gap from the other side. Too often, people are helped through an injury or out of pain, but never fully shown how to rebuild their capacity and confidently return to lifting, running, competing, working, or simply living an active life.
Oak & Anvil was created to help bridge that gap.
I believe rehabilitation should prepare you for more than discharge. It should give you the strength, confidence, and understanding to get back to doing what you love-and equip you to keep doing it for years to come.
THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME
OAK
Rooted. Resilient. Built to endure.
The oak represents strength that begins beneath the surface. Deep roots create stability, resilience, and the ability to keep growing through changing seasons. It’s a reminder that lasting strength isn’t built overnight-it’s developed over time.
ANVIL
Refined through challenge.
An anvil is built to withstand repeated impact. It represents the idea that challenge, when approached with purpose, can shape us rather than break us. Growth often requires pressure, refinement, accountability, and the willingness to keep showing up.
TOGETHER, OAK & ANVIL REPRESENT A DIFFERENT VIEW OF RECOVERY.
ROOTED IN SOMETHING GREATER.
Oak & Anvil is also grounded in my Christian faith and the belief that our gifts, work, and opportunities are meant to be stewarded well and used to serve others. The imagery draws inspiration from passages like Psalm 1:3, Isaiah 61:3, and Proverbs 27:17-themes of being deeply rooted, bearing fruit, and being sharpened through relationship and challenge.
HELPING PEOPLE MOVE WELL, GROW RESILIENT, AND LIVE FULLY.
OUR MISSION
Oak & Anvil exists to help people do more than simply recover from pain. Through individualized physical therapy, movement education, and strength-focused rehabilitation, the goal is to help people become stronger, more confident, and better equipped to keep doing the things that matter most.

Meet the Founder
Dr. Caleb Pitman, PT, DPT, CSCS
Founder & Physical Therapist
I’m a physical therapist and strength and conditioning professional with a passion for helping active people move better, get stronger, and stay confident in what their bodies can do.
Sports have always been a major part of my life. I grew up playing multiple sports and later played collegiate basketball, but my connection to functional fitness really began in 2015. After stepping away from college basketball, a relationship I had built led to an invitation into CrossFit-and I was hooked. Since then, I’ve become a huge fan of the sport and of functional fitness as a whole.
That background has shaped the way I practice. I understand what it means to care about training, performance, competition, and being able to keep doing the things you love. I believe great rehab should do more than reduce pain-it should help you understand your body, rebuild your capacity, and prepare you for the demands of real life, training, and performance.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Touro University Nevada. I’m also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, allowing me to blend evidence-based rehabilitation with progressive strength and performance training.
And if we’re not talking rehab or training, there’s a good chance we’re talking about Jesus, my love for the beach, family, or sports. Roll Tide. Raider Nation. Go Knights Go!
